Dainty Sprinkles Loves Fanny Crown

*images used in the collage above belong to Fanny Crown and Google Images*

Recently I was contacted by the lovely Amy of Fanny Crown asking me to take part in their blogger competition where I would pick out my favourite dress from their website and tell you how I would style it.
Before I even searched the pages and pages of dresses, I knew what I was looking for (Black, Black again and MORE black.) and after a considerate amount of time scrolling, I finally found the ideal dress !

This particular dress is named on point as the 'Splendid One Shoulder Party Dress' a dress you could imagine being worn to a glamorous Cotillion Ball in Gossip Girl. It is perfect for any kind of ball or debs especially if you're looking for a dress on the full length side without being covered in jewels the size of rocks ! Besides the colour and simple jewel detail, One of my favourite things about this dress is the cape cut out in the dresses' only sleeve. It makes the dress even more effortlessly beautiful distributing laid back vibes yet still staying formal.

This gown could be worn in so many different ways, but personally I'd prefer to introduce gothic elements. I think curled hair simply pinned up - similar to the photo from their website above - would look amazing with this dress. I would also wear some black jewellery on the same wrist as the sleeve although I would stay away from necklaces due to the one shoulder neckline of the dress. You can get away with practically any kind of footwear with this full length dress (mostly as it will rarely be seen.) and although I would like to side with classic strappy heels, I feel like this outfit needs a bit of edginess which requires a pair of chunky ankle boots !

I honestly cannot choose on one particular makeup look I would wear with this dress since I adore too ! I think a nude lip would look gorgeous with a black smokey eye accompanied by layers upon layers of mascara but I also feel that either natural or again black smokey eye makeup would look beautiful with a dark berry lipstick. Personally I would always go with any look that involves a dark lippy but I'd love to read in the comments what look you feel would do this dress justice !

And finally ...

I have also been given a 15% discount code for all readers of Dainty Sprinkles (i.e you !)

The Fault In Our Stars Themed Makeup

Today I'm showing you the makeup I wore when I went to watch The Fault In Our Stars at the cinema.
The makeup is revolved around blue pigments as the colour of turquoise can be seen on the cover of the book and on theatrical posters for the film.

First of all ....

Myself, I used - Essence 2in1 eyeliner // Catrice Glamour Doll waterproof mascara //Collection Gothic Glam lipstick in Revenge // Catrice Absolute Nude eyes hadow palette // Essence Quattro palette in Denim 4.0 // Collection Intense Colour eye pencil in Blue Belle

If you have three and half minutes to spare, You can watch how I created this look below.
Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel here which recently reached 150 subscribers !

When creating this look, I first applied a base of concealer onto my lids and crease. I would normally use an eye primer which I would recommend to prevent the creasing of powdered or cream eye shadow but right now I've almost ran out of it. I then began applying eye shadow and I used a beige shade all over my eyelids and below my browbone and then a dark bronze shade of brown in my outer crease.

Now for the blue ! The shade of eye shadow I used is much darker than the eye pencil so I applied that to my outer lids and lower lashline. I then used the eye pencil which is turquoise and I applied that from my outer lid to the middle of my lid and blended it. I also layered it over the dark blue on my lower lashline.

Finally, I lined my upper lashline and applied mascara to my lashes. For lips, I wore a berry lipstick to finish the look !

Thanks so much for reading and tell me in the comments if you have read or watched The Fault In Our Stars yet and what you thought of it,

There's nothing more cruel than only nine lives

Dunnes cami top | Topshop skirt | Penneys cardigan | Tesco cut out boots

I love the warm hues of this outfit as they compliment my hair so well. These colours remind me of sea punk - Especially the Hawaii print on this shoe string top which would prompt you too feel as if you're sitting by a pool or coastal area surrounded by beautiful flowers. Like I said in my previous post, I prefer to wear cardigans during this time of year since summer clothing tend to highlight my uneven hips so these cardigans are my best friends ! They can also protect arms from sun burn, etc. so little purple here being light and vibrant was quite appropriate for today's heat.

Lyrics from Lorde's "Million Dollar Bills"
Currently listening to : Netzwerk | Million Dollar Bills | Ghost | Bravado | Think About It

My new found talent of getting ready in record time has resulted in many consequences including not waking up until less than an hour before I need to leave the house which therefore prevents any time for filming  'get ready with me' 's. Tomorrow I am forcing myself to get up at seven in the morning so hopefully I will find the time to film a makeup video cue a *yay* !

Burgundy

Today I got dip dye done in the hairdresser's and I am now the proud temporary owner of a half burgundy head ! The purple strands will be staying for the next two months regarding that I 'touch it up' once or twice and then I'll half to see how the remaining stain disappears before I return to school since there is no way this hair is getting the chop !

I am so happy with how the dip dye turned out especially since it is so similar to the photo I found on Tumblr that gave me the idea of which colour dye to choose. I also didn't expect the colour on hair to be so bright and vibrant although it did help that the ends were already bleached because of the ombré and there is a slight ombré effect throughout the burgundy because of this ! Also, If you're wondering - The dye used is Crazy Colour in 61 Burgundy.

I personally love this alternative to dying the full head and roots but I'd love to hear your stories !
Have you ever dip dyed your mane before ?

Fluorescent Daisies

Cardigan and choker are my mam's | Penneys skirt | New Look crop top | Penneys shoes

My friends and I, Accompanied by several packs of tissues and soon to be puffy eyes, Ventured to watch the long awaited The Fault In Our Stars film in the cinema where you never know if it will be too hot or freezing cold so I was dressed for all kinds of temperatures ! I've been wearing this cardigan everyday since it's so comfortable plus it looks good with any outfit although I should probably return it to my mam. I should also probably be dressing more colour appropriate i.e brighter for the season but I'm preferring the darker clothes right now so we may all pretend for now that it's autumn or something.

The cinema was almost empty to our surprise and soon enough, There were teary eyes left right and centre which is quite awkward when your eyes are dry as the desert ! I'd swear I am one of the only people who didn't cry reading the book, but my eyes did begin to fill with water when watching the last scene of the film which was beautifully done. I really enjoyed the movie and everything was exactly how I imagined whilst reading the book and I feel that it definitely stayed true to it.

Yesterday morning, I finally finished the Junior Cert and I am relieved to be on my summer holidays ! It's quite a strange feeling when there is all of a sudden no need for studying anymore and I'm still adjusting to all the free time I now have to spend. I uploaded a video analysing the whole two weeks which you can watch below !

That's all for this very awkward-since-I-have-not-blogged-properly-in-almost-a-month post but hopefully by the time I blog to you next, I will have ceased using phrases of French and Irish the whole time (hashtag juniorcertproblems.) and instead have returned to a stable writing brain kind of thing.

Talk to you soon,

Miniature Dreams

Does anyone remember these little cute fairies ? Summer eight years ago I harassed my mam for these every time we went food shopping in Tesco ! They're missing their dresses and clothes right now and also their wings.
Below is my letter to Aveen who's in the Gaeltacht right now ! There's some brilliant guest posts on her blog for the next three weeks so you should definitely check them out here ! Excuse my little cartoon drawing - It's meant to be Aveen and danisnotonfire

I had my camera for almost six months yet only recently have I discovered that there's some settings lurking in the background. On Tuesday, I accidentally clicked on an option which brought to find some adorable camera effects such as 'miniature' and 'fish eye lens'. The majority of photos in this post were taken using the miniature effect and it is honestly the cutest thing ever - I could cry of delight !

Whilst on the topic that is crying of delight, My final Junior Cert exam which happens to be Music is on Wednesday. From yesterday afternoon, I luckily have six days to prepare and I cannot wait for it all to be over ! The exams have gone by slow but also fast - I am ecstatic over how well they've gone so far.
I've been difficulties with video editing for over a month now, but once Music is finished and I've gone for a long nap, I'll be making a video on my thoughts about the Junior Cert !

This time next week Dainty Sprinkles will be back in full swing,
